JFA worked with the design team to produce working drawings to meet the changing requirements of the roof through the design and planning process. The design of the roof can affect colonisation and biodiversity. The provision of a variety of substrates allow for differing species, aspect, rubble gardens and slopes all have an increased affect on biodiversity. The Templeback development is currently under construction, and will be finished within the year.
The creation of a brown roof which provides an ecologically important landscape within the built up urban environment. Micro-topography has been considered throughout this design. Other features for insects and nesting birds have also been incorporated into the design.
