Key Issues

JFA Landscape and Ecology have provided ecological support for the duration of this Sheppey Hospital re-development project. The key issues that were identified during the initial ecological appraisal were the potential for bats, barn owls and reptiles. Further, the presence of bats was identified and an application for a development mitigation licence for bats was made by JFA Landscape and Ecology on behalf of Persimmon and was granted in 2010.

JFA Landscape and Ecology successfully collaborated with Persimmon to ensure that the project was delivered in a timely and ecologically sensitive manner, with ease of implementation. Finally, a Code for Sustainable Homes assessment was completed to ensure that the landscape and ecological elements included in the development scheme achieved the required level of credits.
