Project Hospital re-development for residential use – Chesham Hospital, Buckinghamshire
Client Richard Donoyou/ Adrienne Hill
- Extended Phase 1 survey
- Protected species surveys – bats, badgers and reptiles
Several planning policy issues were identified by JFA Environmental Planning pertaining to protected species and the development proposals. There is a very large badger sett in the woodland immediately adjacent to the site, and most importantly there is an outlier sett within the development site boundary. JFA Environmental Planning’s expertise will be required to write an application to Natural England for the closure of this sett.
There is also a population of slow worms on site that will require JFA Environmental Planning to write a mitigation plan which will describe an ecologically robust clearance strategy, the safeguarding of a receptor area, and provide recommendations for a habitat enhancement scheme suitable for supporting reptiles.
